Our Dental Assistant Program focuses on giving you the knowledge and hands-on experience needed for your new career. While most schools only provide education on Chairside Dental Assistant responsibilities, we give our students the advantage over their competition by including practical hands-on training for all Chairside and Expanded Function Dental Assistant responsibilities including:

Chairside Dental Assistant

  • Perform Sterilization
  • Preparing Treatment Room for Procedures
  • Taking Down and Disinfecting Treatment Room After Procedures
  • Assisting Dentist Chairside During Treatment
  • Passing Instruments to Dentist During Treatment
  • Taking Digital and Film Radiographs
  • Various Lab Procedures
  • Providing Patient Education

Expanded Dental Assistant
An Expanded-Function Dental Assistant increases the Dentist’s productivity (use of time and ability to produce more money) by being able to perform various procedures on patients without the Dentist’s direct supervision. If you check help-wanted ads, you are likely to find the following Expanded Function skills are highly desired:

  • Placement of Rubber Dams
  • Packing Retraction Cord
  • Fabricating Temporary Crowns
  • Placing Tofflemires
  • Placing Dental Sealants

Dental Assistant Program Certifications

  • Radiology Certification
  • OSHA Training and Certification
  • CPR Certification
  • Dental Assistant Certificate of Completion
